Years of Marathon Experience
In a bold step toward environmental conservation and sustainable development, the Nyika Women’s Green Foundation is proud to announce the inaugural Mosi-oa-Tunya Green Marathon, set to take place on 20th September 2025 in Livingstone, Zambia. Under the inspiring tagline “Trail for Tomorrow”, this groundbreaking event—the first environmental green marathon in the country—aims to unite government leaders, stakeholders, and individuals in a shared mission to combat climate change and promote green economic growth. Participants will enjoy iconic routes through the park, featuring wild animal encounters and the breathtaking, thundering Mosi-oa-Tunya Falls (Victoria Falls). This is more than just a race—it’s a chance to explore Livingstone’s rich eco-tourism offerings and experience adventure in its most natural state.

The Nyika Women’s Green Foundation, founded by Melody, an ecopreneur since 2018, the initiative began with the innovative production of construction materials made from recycled glass waste—primarily used for flooring and countertops in residential and commercial spaces. Driven by a passion for sustainability and community empowerment, Melody built a network of local youth and women who collect glass waste from community dumpsites. This not only helps clean the environment but also provides a source of income, helping to alleviate poverty. Out of this movement, the foundation was born—to raise awareness about environmental preservation, promote development beyond profit, and foster the creation of resilient, green, and smart communities that empower future generations.
